Jason Kitner

Jason Kitner might be a Coast Guard pilot today if he weren’t so extraordinarily tall. Growing up in Fort Lauderdale, Jason dreamed of serving his country as a flyer, but once he grew to 6’6” and couldn’t squeeze into a cockpit, he had to find another dream job.

With a degree in Finance from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business, Jason worked as a trader at several brokerages before spending 15 years at TradeStation, a Miami-area online brokerage platform for individual traders and investors, earning six FINRA certifications along the way. By 2019, however, Jason and his wife and daughter sought a change, and Colorado beckoned.

On GHPIA’s research and trading team, Jason assists clients by executing trades and helping keep portfolios balanced. He analyzes individual securities and larger market trends, is an expert on brokerage operations and best practices, and has a sharp eye for avoiding financial land mines, pitfalls, and businesses with dubious numbers. He holds the Series 65 securities license for investment advisors.

Having moved his family from Florida to Lakewood, Jason has made what he calls the tough transition from scuba diving to snowboarding and mountain biking. Coming from a long line of art teachers, Jason enjoys drawing with his elementary-school age daughter, gardening, and anything that takes him away from a screen and lets him engage with nature and real life.
