Ernesto Montes, CFP®, is a Wealth Advisor at GHP Investment Advisors in Denver, Colorado. Many of Ernesto’s clients are physicians, attorneys, engineers, and small business owners who are navigating the challenges of growing careers, stock compensation, and retirement savings.
Since joining GHPIA in 2019, Ernesto has helped clients align their investment strategies with long-term goals, structure retirement plans, and design tax-efficient approaches to preserve and grow wealth. His ability to simplify complex topics gives clients confidence in making decisions that impact their families for years to come.
Ernesto earned a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He began his career with Charles Schwab and later served as an Associate Investment Advisor at a registered investment advisor firm in Savannah before joining GHPIA in 2019. He is a Certified Financial Planner®, a designation that underscores his ability to guide clients through investment strategies, retirement planning, and tax-efficient wealth management.
Ernesto grew up in Atlanta, where his parents instilled in him the values of humility, hard work, and service. A fluent Spanish speaker, he is proud of his Peruvian heritage and often travels to visit his grandparents in Peru. He has even guided colleagues through the country, sharing the culture and traditions that shaped him.
In Colorado, Ernesto has embraced the active lifestyle of the Rocky Mountains. He plays in a local soccer league, enjoys hiking and snow sports, and holds season tickets to the Denver Broncos. Whether working with clients, exploring new places, or enjoying time with family and friends, Ernesto values building authentic connections that last.
